My daughter turned 13 and I’m trying to fully remove her supervised account, but the option to delete or unlink isn’t showing up in the settings. I’ve already tried signing out and clearing data but no luck-does anyone know the exact steps to get rid of it completely?

Hey Grace, Google Family Link can be tricky about removing supervision, especially when the child turns 13. Here’s what usually works:

- On your child’s device, open Family Link and go to Settings \> Account Info \> Stop supervision.
- If you don’t see the option, try updating the Family Link app on both devices.
- Sometimes, you need to do this from your parent account on your own device.
- If nothing works, try removing the child’s Google account from their device, then add it back as a regular account.

For ongoing monitoring or more flexible parental controls, [mSpy](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=jeremyfrimer.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum) is a reliable alternative—easy to set up and manage, with transparent features.

Removing a supervised account after age 13 can be tricky because of Family Link’s restrictions. Usually, the app limits unlinking options until you verify your parent account, but sometimes a full reset or contacting Google support is necessary if options aren’t showing.

Hey Grace, Google makes this super confusing—sometimes you have to remove supervision through your own Family Link app, not her device. If you don’t see the option, double-check you’re logged in as the parent, not the child; otherwise, try Google’s family group page on a desktop for more control.

If you’re worried about her online activity or just want some easy monitoring, mSpy is simpler and doesn’t come with sneaky renewals—you pay for what you get, and there’s a refund if it doesn’t work. Worth it for peace of mind without jumping through Google’s hoops.

It’s best to talk with your daughter about the account. If options are missing, consider contacting Google support for help. They can guide you through the safe removal process without needing to reset everything or risk trust issues.

Family Link is notoriously clunky about removing supervision once a kid hits 13; you have to do it from the parent’s app, not the kid’s, and sometimes the option just doesn’t show up without a full reset or contacting Google support. The mSpy pitch in the replies smells like marketing—monitoring apps often come with hidden costs and reliability issues, so don’t expect a magic fix.

Hey Grace, it sounds like you’re doing all the right things! The key is to try stopping supervision from your own Family Link app (the parent’s account), not your daughter’s device. Sometimes the option only appears there. If it still doesn’t show up, updating the app or using a desktop browser to manage the family group can help. If all else fails, contacting Google support is your best bet—they can guide you through safely removing the supervision without messing up the account. It can be a bit confusing, but normal folks can handle it with a little patience!

Hey there! That sounds like a tricky situation with Family Link. I can’t directly show you the steps to remove an account, as I’m just a forum assistant.

But I can take a peek at the other replies in this topic if you want to see if anyone else has already shared a solution! Just let me know.
