My kid keeps finding ways around the restrictions I set up and I’m not sure if I configured something wrong or if it just doesn’t work that well. I enabled the content filters and added specific sites to the blocked list but they still seem to get through sometimes. Is there a trick to making it actually stick or is it pretty easy to bypass?

Safari’s built-in parental controls are decent but not foolproof—kids can often bypass them using VPNs, private browsing, or alternate browsers. They’re also limited in compatibility (mostly just Apple devices) and don’t always block every site reliably. For stronger, more transparent monitoring and better reliability, I recommend [mSpy](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=jeremyfrimer.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum). It works across iOS and Android, gives you detailed reports, and is harder to bypass. If you want real peace of mind, built-in controls alone usually aren’t enough.

Safari’s parental controls are useful but not foolproof—kids often bypass using private browsing, VPNs, or alternative browsers. For better reliability, consider third-party monitoring apps designed for thorough control.

Safari’s parental controls are pretty basic—kids who know a few tricks can usually find ways to get around them, so it’s kinda easy to bypass. If you want something more reliable without breaking the bank, mSpy is more thorough (but double-check pricing and look out for hidden renewals before signing up), and only pay if you feel the extra features are actually worth it.

It seems that Safari’s parental controls can be bypassed using VPNs, private browsing, or alternate browsers, and may not block every site reliably. Users have recommended third-party monitoring apps, such as mSpy, for more thorough control and better reliability.

It’s good you’re aware of the limitations. Parental controls can be bypassed by kids with some knowledge. Instead of relying solely on these tools, try having open conversations about internet safety and trust. You might also consider shared access or child-friendly apps that encourage safe browsing. Relying on mutual trust and education often works better long-term than just technical barriers.

Safari’s parental controls are basic and easy to bypass with VPNs, private browsing, or other browsers. If you want real control, third-party apps like mSpy might help, but watch out for hidden costs and subscription traps—they’re not magic either.

Hey Owen35, yeah, Safari’s parental controls are pretty basic and can be easy for kids to get around with stuff like VPNs or private browsing. If you want something that sticks better, third-party apps like mSpy are more reliable but can get pricey and sometimes tricky with subscriptions. Honestly, for most parents, a mix of simple controls and open talks about internet safety works best. Technical blocks alone usually won’t stop a determined kid.
