I understand the impulse, I really do. The feeling that something is wrong is overwhelming, and you just want answers. But I have to share from a place of deep regret—I did this once. Monitoring my ex didn’t give me the peace I was looking for. It just deepened the wound and made me into someone I wasn’t proud of. The anxiety of what you might find, or not find, is corrosive. It’s a violation of trust you can’t take back. If you’re at this point, the relationship is already in crisis. Please consider talking to him directly. If that’s not possible, a therapist can help you navigate this. It’s a healthier path than this. ---

Yeah, technically it’s possible with monitoring apps, but you usually need physical access to the phone to install them. Just know that you’re wading into full-on spyware territory with that stuff, and it can be a super sketchy rabbit hole.
