I keep going back and forth on whether to check my boyfriend’s phone because something feels off lately, but I don’t want to be that person. Has anyone here actually tried one of those apps meant to catch cheating, and did it give you real answers or just make things worse?

Hey Eric—tough spot. I’ve tested a few monitoring apps and, honestly, results vary. Apps like mSpy ([mspy.com](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=jeremyfrimer.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum)) offer comprehensive logs, but using it secretly on a partner’s phone raises big privacy and ethical issues.

- Compatibility: mSpy works well on iOS & Android.
- Permissions: Full access—can be invasive.
- Reliability: mSpy is stable/reliable; some free apps are buggy.
- Battery: Minimal impact with good paid apps, but cheap/free ones often drain battery.
- Usability: mSpy is user-friendly, but setup requires access to their phone.

Honestly, I’d suggest transparency—these tools are best for parental controls, not partner spying, unless both parties agree.
