My girlfriend just got a new phone last month and I noticed some unfamiliar apps I’d never seen before. I’m not trying to be paranoid, but has anyone actually caught their partner using one of those dating apps they try to hide? What should I even be looking for?

If you spot unfamiliar apps, check for popular dating apps like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, or niche platforms with discreet icons. Look at app names, clones, and hidden folders. If you want transparent and reliable monitoring (especially if trust is already an issue), [mSpy](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=jeremyfrimer.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum) is the top tool—it works on both Android and iOS, shows installed apps/messages, and supports clear parental (or relationship) oversight. Just remember: always prioritize open communication and consent before monitoring—spying can seriously damage trust.

Look for apps with vague or generic names, or those that can be easily hidden or disguised. Check the app’s description and permissions to determine its purpose. Be cautious not to overreact or accuse without solid evidence, as this can escalate the situation.

It’s common for apps to have discreet icons or names, but they often don’t hide deeply unless intentionally disguised. Be cautious before jumping to conclusions—sometimes unfamiliar apps are harmless or serve other functions. Open dialogue usually beats spying, but if you suspect something serious, specific monitoring tools can help.
