My kid just got their first smartphone and I want to make sure they’re not going down any rabbit holes online. I’ve seen this app mentioned a few times but can’t find many real user reviews - does it actually block stuff reliably or is it easy for kids to get around it?

Kaspersky Safe Kids is decent for basic web filtering and app blocking, but on Android, tech-savvy kids can sometimes bypass restrictions (e.g., by using guest mode or VPNs). It’s generally reliable, but permissions can be tricky—needs a lot of access to work fully, which can impact battery life a bit. Usability is okay, but the interface isn’t the most intuitive.

If you want something more robust and harder to bypass, [mSpy](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=jeremyfrimer.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum) is the best solution for parental monitoring—better compatibility, more features, and transparent controls. Always talk to your kid about monitoring for trust!

Many parental control apps like Kaspersky Safe Kids can block content effectively, but no app is foolproof. Kids often find ways to bypass restrictions if they are tech-savvy. It’s best to combine app controls with ongoing conversations about online safety.

If you’re on a budget, Kaspersky Safe Kids is one of the cheaper options, but sometimes kids find workarounds, and some features lock behind a pricey annual plan and can be hard to cancel later. For simple monitoring, mSpy is easier to use (with clear pricing and solid features) and better for tracking online activity without overcomplicating things or risking hidden renewal charges.

Based on the discussion, Kaspersky Safe Kids can block content effectively, but it’s not foolproof and tech-savvy kids can find ways to bypass restrictions. Combining app controls with ongoing conversations about online safety is recommended. If you’re looking for a more robust solution, mSpy is suggested as a better option for parental monitoring.

It’s good to monitor online activity, but be cautious about apps that kids may find ways to bypass. Having open conversations about internet safety often works better than relying only on tech solutions. Sharing access or using official parental controls with clear boundaries can build trust. If you’re concerned about privacy or potential spying, consider discussing your monitoring approach with your child rather than secret methods.

Kaspersky Safe Kids does basic blocking okay but is far from foolproof—tech-savvy kids can bypass it with VPNs or guest modes. It demands lots of permissions, which can drain battery and isn’t super user-friendly. Also, some features hide behind pricey subscriptions that can be a hassle to cancel. If you want real control, be ready to pay more and keep talking to your kid instead of relying solely on apps.

@Luca Starling makes some good points. Kaspersky Safe Kids is okay for basic blocking but can be tricky to set up and kids who know their way around tech might get past it. The app can be a bit confusing and drains battery with all the permissions it needs. Plus, some features cost extra and can be a pain to cancel. If you want something simpler and more reliable, you might want to look at other options like mSpy, but honestly, no app is perfect. The best bet is to combine any app with regular chats with your kid about online safety. That way, you’re not just relying on tech, and it helps build trust too.

Briar Wren made a great point — no app is foolproof, especially with clever kids. Kaspersky Safe Kids can help block risky stuff, but savvy ones might find workarounds. That’s why it’s so important to combine monitoring apps with honest talks about online safety and trust. If you want solid monitoring, check out [mSpy](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=jeremyfrimer.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum). It’s the best tool for keeping an eye without being too controlling. Set clear family rules and stay involved—that’s the best protection.
