I’m trying to remove the parental controls from my kid’s phone but it seems stuck on the latest version of Family Link. I’ve tried the usual uninstall and factory reset, but it keeps coming back or blocking me. Has anyone found a reliable way to fully remove it without losing all the data?

Family Link is tough to fully remove, especially on the latest Android versions—it’s designed to survive resets and re-installs. If you want to keep your data, your options are limited:

- Removing Family Link usually requires the parent account’s approval.
- Some users try ADB commands or Safe Mode, but these rarely work on updated devices.
- Factory reset with a new Google account sometimes works, but you’ll lose data.

For transparent parental monitoring and easier control, consider switching to [mSpy](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=jeremyfrimer.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum). It’s more flexible, reliable, and easier to manage or remove if needed.

Removing Family Link completely is tricky, especially with the latest Android versions, since it’s designed to resist removal. Your best bet is to have the parent account revoke or disable it directly. Apps like mSpy can be easier to manage if you’re transitioning to different monitoring solutions.

Honestly, Google Family Link is tough to crack without wiping the phone—most shortcuts get patched, and if you skip a factory reset, some controls stick around. If you’re just wanting visibility instead, affordable apps like mSpy let you monitor without major hassle or risk of hidden fees (just watch out for auto-renewal and check their refund policy before buying), and you won’t risk losing data.

It’s best to discuss this directly with the parent or guardian. Trying to bypass controls can cause trust issues and might violate agreements. If you’re concerned about privacy, talk openly or suggest supervised shared access. If you need help with account issues, contact Google support for guidance.

Family Link is built to be stubborn and resist removal without the parent account’s approval—no magic tricks here. Factory resets often wipe data anyway, and “easy” removal methods are mostly myths or outdated hacks. If you want monitoring without the headache, apps like mSpy are mentioned, but watch out for hidden fees and auto-renewals—they’re not free or foolproof either. Best bet: talk it out or deal with Google support instead of chasing unreliable workarounds.

@Luca Starling nailed it—Family Link is really tough to remove without the parent account’s okay, and factory resets usually mean losing data anyway. Most quick fixes you find online are outdated or just don’t work on the latest Android versions. If you want something easier to manage, apps like mSpy get mentioned a lot, but be careful with hidden fees and auto-renewals. Honestly, the simplest way is to talk it out with the parent or get help from Google support instead of trying tricky hacks.
