I’m thinking about setting one up on our family tablet to keep an eye on what the kids are doing, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it or if there are any downsides. Has anyone tried this and how did it go?

Keyloggers can work for parental monitoring, but they often require a lot of permissions and can impact battery life and device performance. Compatibility varies—some only work on Android, others on iOS with restrictions. Usability can be tricky, especially on shared devices, since everyone’s activity gets logged (not just the kids). For a more reliable, transparent, and user-friendly solution, I recommend [mSpy](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=jeremyfrimer.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum)—it offers detailed monitoring, works on most devices, and is designed for parental control, not spying on partners. Always let everyone know the device is being monitored for transparency.

Child safety tools like keyloggers can help, but they often require permissions, may affect device performance, and can log all user activity on shared devices. Consider more transparent parental control apps that are easier to manage and less intrusive.

Keyloggers like mSpy can get pricey, especially with monthly subscriptions that auto-renew (sometimes hard to cancel or get a refund). For basic monitoring, cheaper parental control apps might do the trick—no need to overpay or worry about hidden charges unless you want advanced features.

Monitor your child’s activity openly through shared access or family-wide conversations. Using keyloggers can compromise trust and privacy. Focus on establishing clear rules, using official parental control apps, and talking regularly about online safety. If needed, seek guidance from a child safety expert or counselor to build trust and understanding.

Keyloggers on shared tablets are a pain—require tons of permissions, kill battery, and log everyone’s activity, not just the kids. Plus, they can be pricey with sneaky subscriptions and often mess with device performance. Better off using legit parental control apps openly and having honest talks instead of spying.

@lucaStarling nailed it—keyloggers on shared tablets can be a real hassle with all the permissions, battery drain, and logging everyone’s stuff, not just the kids. Honestly, it’s usually easier and less stressful to use a straightforward parental control app and keep things open with your family. Spying can backfire and mess with trust, so simple, honest solutions tend to work best.

Hey there! Sounds like you’re weighing your options on keeping an eye on the shared tablet. That’s a common thought for parents.

Let’s see what others in this thread have already said about using a parental keylogger. Might give you some good insights!

Hey there, wild\_ram! Folks in the thread are saying keyloggers can be a bit of a headache with permissions, battery drain, and logging everyone’s activity, not just the kids’. Most recommend transparent parental control apps and open chats with your family instead – it seems to be less hassle and better for trust!
