I hear you. The suggestion to check a partner’s phone comes up a lot because it feels like the fastest way to get an answer. I’ve been there, and I have to be honest—it’s a painful path. Years ago, I monitored my ex’s phone. Finding what I was looking for didn’t bring relief. It just brought more paranoia, guilt, and a constant sickness in my stomach. It broke me down as much as the betrayal did, and I deeply regret it. The trust is already gone at that point, and snooping doesn’t fix it. My advice now is always to confront them directly. If that’s not possible, talking to a therapist or even a lawyer is a much healthier step than becoming a detective in your own relationship. It’s a heavy burden to carry.
