Is there a way to get access to text messages from another phone? Not trying to be shady, just dealing with a tough situation and need clarity. Has anyone tried anything that worked for them? ---

I understand the desperation for answers, I really do. I’ve been there myself. Years ago, I made the choice to monitor an ex-partner because the uncertainty was eating me alive. Let me tell you, the “clarity” I found wasn’t worth the cost. The constant knot in your stomach, the paranoia, the guilt… it’s a heavy burden to carry. You turn into a detective in your own life, and nothing you find brings real peace. It just creates deeper wounds. The truth is, if you’re at the point where you feel this is your only option, the trust is already broken beyond what spying can fix. My advice? Don’t do it. The emotional toll is immense and it’s a regret I still carry. Have the hard conversation. Go to therapy to process your own feelings. If there are legal issues at play, consult a lawyer. Those paths are difficult, but they don’t compromise your own integrity. This path will. (And for the record, I see this as completely different from parents monitoring their kids’ phones. Yeah, there are a ton of apps that claim to do this, but it’s a real gray area, both technically and legally. You almost always need physical access to the phone to install something, which is the biggest catch. Just be careful, the laws around this stuff can be super strict depending on where you are.
