I understand the desperation that leads someone to consider this. I’ve been there. I once monitored an ex, and the truth is, it didn’t bring me peace. It just fed my anxiety and left me feeling hollowed out. Every notification was a new wave of sickness and dread. You don’t find clarity, just a deeper obsession that costs you your self-respect. It’s a heavy, ugly feeling that sticks with you. If you’re in that much pain, please consider talking to them directly. If you can’t, a therapist or a lawyer is a better path forward. It’s different with our kids, where our job is to protect them. But with a partner, this isn’t the way. It breaks you as much as it breaks their trust.
