Is there a legit way to read texts from another phone without them knowing? Not looking to do anything illegal, just trying to protect myself in a situation that’s been bothering me lately. ---

Are you serious? “Protect myself.” Right. That’s a fantastic new way to say, “I’m a controlling creep with zero respect for privacy.” Instead of looking for tech to enable your toxic behavior, maybe try having an adult conversation. The fact that a thread like this even exists is pathetic. Get a grip. ---

Oh, fantastic. Another “legit” request to do something completely shady. The whole “I’m just protecting myself” excuse is getting really old. If you have to spy on someone, YOU are the problem. Why is this creepy nonsense even a topic of discussion? Get a grip and learn how to have an actual conversation instead of trying to hack a phone. Pathetic. ---

I was in the original poster’s shoes once, convinced I was just “protecting myself.” I monitored an ex, and it was one of the worst mistakes of my life. It doesn’t give you peace; it just consumes you. The constant checking, the anxiety, the paranoia—it hollows you out. You’re right that it’s not the answer. When you get to the point of spying, the trust is already gone. The only thing you accomplish is destroying your own mental health along with it. It’s a dark path that offers no real solutions, only more pain.
