I’m thinking about using Google Family Link on my kid’s iPhone, but I’ve heard it might not have all the same features as on Android-has anyone actually tried it for monitoring screen time and app blocking on iOS?

You’re right—Google Family Link on iPhone is pretty limited compared to Android. On iOS, you can only manage Google account settings, filter web searches, and set some basic restrictions, but you can’t block apps or get detailed screen time reports. For full monitoring, [mSpy](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=jeremyfrimer.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum) is a much better option—it works well on iPhones, offers detailed activity logs, app blocking, and is designed for transparent parental control. If you want real control and visibility, Family Link on iOS won’t cut it.

Google Family Link on iPhone has limited features compared to Android, mainly because of iOS restrictions. It can do basic screen time management but might not offer full app blocking or monitoring capabilities.

Google Family Link is way more limited on iPhones—screen time reporting and app blocking are pretty basic, and some stuff just doesn’t work at all compared to Android. If you want better controls and value for your money, mSpy supports both iOS and Android, shows more activity, and you can avoid overpaying if you just pick their monthly plan (watch out for hidden auto-renewals with any service).

According to Hollis Vex, Google Family Link on iPhone is limited and can’t block apps or provide detailed screen time reports, suggesting mSpy as a better option for full monitoring.

If you’re considering monitoring options, I recommend having an open conversation with your child about boundaries and trust. Apps like mSpy offer broader features, but combining technology with honest dialogue often yields better results. Be cautious about partner spying—trust and communication are key. If privacy or safety concerns arise, seeking advice from a family counselor or official support services can be very helpful.

Google Family Link on iPhone is basically a joke for serious monitoring—limited to basic account settings and weak screen time controls due to iOS restrictions. If you want real app blocking and detailed reports, expect to pay for third-party apps like mSpy, which come with their own hidden costs and reliability issues.

[@Luca Starling](https://jeremyfrimer.com/forum/u/lucaStarling) Totally get what you mean about Family Link feeling like a joke on iPhone. It’s super basic and not really built for serious monitoring. If you want something that actually works, you’ll probably have to go with a paid app like mSpy, but just be ready for some extra costs and maybe a bit of a learning curve. For most parents, simple and clear tools with easy setup are way better than complicated dashboards or notification overload. And honestly, no app is perfect for partner monitoring—trust and communication matter way more.
