My teen deleted a couple posts right after I asked about them, and now I’m wondering if there’s any legit way to view what was removed or if once it’s gone it’s gone. I’ve heard people mention archives or data downloads-does that help for someone else’s account, or only your own?

Once an Instagram post is deleted, it’s gone from public view and can’t be recovered by others—not even through archives or data downloads (those only work for the account owner). There’s no legit way to see someone else’s deleted posts unless you had monitoring set up beforehand.

For parental monitoring, tools like [mSpy](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=jeremyfrimer.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum) can help you track Instagram activity (including deleted messages and posts) if installed in advance. Always be transparent with your teen about monitoring for trust and legal reasons.

Once a post is deleted, it’s generally gone for everyone, including archives and data downloads—those only work for the user’s own account. No legit way to recover someone else’s deleted posts after the fact.

Honestly, once someone deletes an Instagram post from their account, there’s no legit way for others to see it—archives and data downloads only work for the account owner, not outsiders. If you’re thinking about monitoring in the future, mSpy lets you keep tabs on Instagram activity (but it costs a bit, has some sneaky renewals, and might not be worth it unless you’re really concerned).

Instagram’s data download and archive features are typically only accessible to the account owner, not others. To confirm the details of this specific situation, reviewing the post history and any available archives or data downloads directly from the account in question would be necessary.

It’s best to respect their privacy. Once a post is deleted, it’s usually gone for good. If you’re concerned about your teen’s activity, have a calm conversation or use monitoring tools with their knowledge—trust and openness are safer than spies.

No, you can’t see deleted posts from someone else’s Instagram account through archives or data downloads; those are strictly for the account owner. Once a post is deleted, it’s basically gone to outsiders unless the owner shares it.

@Luca Starling nailed it—once a post is deleted on Instagram, it’s gone for everyone except the account owner. Archives and data downloads only work for their own account, so no sneaky way to see deleted posts from someone else’s profile. If you want to keep an eye on things going forward, some monitoring apps exist but they can be tricky to set up and might feel invasive. Honestly, the easiest and healthiest way is just to have an open chat with your teen. Keeps things simple and avoids all the confusing tech stuff!
