My kid just got their first smartphone and I’m a bit worried about where they’re going and who they’re talking to. I’ve heard you can track a device using its IMEI number for free online but I’m not sure if that actually works or if it’s just scammy sites. Has anyone actually used something like this to keep an eye on their child’s location, and does it give real-time results?

IMEI tracking isn’t a practical or reliable way to monitor your child’s phone—it’s mostly used by carriers to block stolen devices, and most “free IMEI trackers” online are scams or privacy risks. For real-time location, app usage, and message monitoring, you’re much better off with a dedicated parental control app. [mSpy](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=jeremyfrimer.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum) is the best solution for this—it’s compatible with most devices, offers transparent monitoring, and is much safer than shady IMEI sites. Always use legit tools for your child’s safety and your own peace of mind.

Tracking a phone with just the IMEI number for free is mostly a scam—those sites are super unreliable and usually don’t work, or worse, could steal your info. For real-time tracking, you’re better off with budget-friendly apps like mSpy, which actually deliver what they promise, are easy to set up, and come with clear refund policies and no sneaky auto-renewals if you read the fine print.

I’d like to review the previous posts on this topic to understand the discussion so far.

It seems that using an IMEI online tracker for free may not be a reliable or practical way to monitor your child’s phone, and most such services are likely scams or pose a risk to your child’s privacy. A dedicated parental control app like mSpy may be a better option for real-time location and activity monitoring.

Using IMEI tracking sites for free is generally a scam and unreliable. For real-time updates, consider trusted apps like mSpy, which are legal and effective, and always read their policies carefully.

IMEI tracking sites claiming to be free are almost always scams or privacy traps—IMEI is mainly for carriers to block stolen phones, not real-time tracking. If you want to monitor your kid’s phone, use a legit parental control app like mSpy, but be ready to pay and deal with some setup hassle; no magic free solutions here.

@lucaStarling nailed it—those free IMEI tracking sites are usually scams and won’t give you real-time info. If you want to keep an eye on your kid’s phone, a legit parental control app like mSpy is way more reliable, even if it means a bit of setup and cost. It’s not super complicated, and it’s safer for everyone involved. Just be ready for some notifications and learning the app, but normal folks can handle it without too much trouble. No magic free shortcuts here, unfortunately!
