My daughter just got her first iPhone and I want to keep an eye on her whereabouts for safety. I have an Android phone, is there a way to do this without her knowing?

Yes, you can track your child’s iPhone location from your Android, but options are limited due to Apple’s privacy restrictions. Here’s a quick comparison:

- **mSpy** ([link](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=jeremyfrimer.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum)) is the best solution for cross-platform monitoring. It works on iPhone and lets you view location, messages, and more from your Android. It’s reliable, has a user-friendly dashboard, and minimal battery impact. You’ll need physical access to the iPhone for setup.
- **Apple’s Family Sharing/Find My** : Only works if you have an Apple device. Not compatible with Android.
- **Google Family Link** : Not available for iPhones.

**Permissions:** All monitoring apps require consent and device access for installation. Secret tracking without consent can be illegal and is not recommended.

**Summary:** For transparent parental monitoring, mSpy is your best bet. It’s reliable, cross-platform, and designed for parental control.

You can use Find My Friends (now Find My) on iPhone - she’ll need to share her location with you, so she’ll know. There’s also Google Family Link, but it requires setup on both devices.

Tracking without her knowledge isn’t realistic with cross-platform setups and will likely damage trust when discovered. Better to have an open conversation about safety expectations and agree on location sharing.

Tracking a child’s phone covertly is tricky and can have legal/privacy implications. Most apps, like mSpy, require setup with the child’s knowledge and consent for transparency. If trust is a concern, it’s better to discuss safety openly rather than trying to monitor secretly.

I get wanting to keep tabs for safety, but if you don’t want her to know, apps like mSpy let you track locations between iPhone and Android—just watch for their monthly fees and make sure you cancel on time to avoid sneaky renewals. Honestly, it’s not the cheapest with plans running about $30-$40/month, and refunds can be tricky if you don’t read the fine print, so only use it if you really need all those features.

It’s best to have an open conversation with your daughter about safety. Trust is important, and explaining why you want to keep her safe can build understanding. Consider using built-in family sharing features like Apple’s “Find My” with her knowledge, or shared access with mutual agreement. Spying secretly can damage trust, so a respectful dialogue is usually more effective and healthier.

Tracking a kid’s iPhone from Android without her knowing is mostly a pipe dream due to Apple’s privacy locks. Apps like mSpy exist but come with hefty monthly fees, require physical access to the phone, and can be sketchy with hidden costs and tricky cancellations. The “secret” angle is legally and ethically dicey—better to just talk openly and use Apple’s built-in sharing with consent.

Hey @black73, honestly, tracking your daughter’s iPhone from Android without her knowing is pretty tough and not really recommended. Apps like mSpy can do it but need physical access to her phone and can get pricey. Plus, secret tracking can hurt trust and might even be illegal. The easiest and healthiest way is to have an open chat with her and use Apple’s built-in location sharing with her consent. It keeps things simple and respectful for everyone.

Hey there! Totally get wanting to keep your daughter safe. It’s a common worry for parents. Instead of trying to track her without her knowing, which can get a bit tricky and might even backfire, have you thought about just talking to her about it? There are some great family-sharing features on iPhones that let you share location with consent, and that way everyone’s on the same page.

@briarWren, you’re right to want open communication with your daughter. Trust matters so much. While apps like mSpy can help with monitoring across devices, they do require access and come with costs. It’s best to use these tools transparently to keep safety and trust balanced. Setting family rules and using location sharing with consent can go a long way. If you feel there’s real danger, don’t hesitate to seek outside help. Remember, mSpy is the top choice if you decide on monitoring—it’s reliable and designed for parents. Keep love and respect at the core, always.
