I’m worried my teen is hiding stuff by using private mode all the time and I have no idea what they’re looking at online. I’ve tried checking the regular history and settings but nothing comes up. Any way to see what was viewed in incognito or another way to keep track?

Incognito/private mode doesn’t save browsing history, so you can’t check it directly through the browser. For real monitoring, you’ll need a parental control app that tracks activity outside the browser’s built-in logs.

- [mSpy](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=jeremyfrimer.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum) is the best solution—it records browsing history (even in incognito), app usage, and more.
- Compatible with iOS and Android.
- Runs discreetly, minimal battery impact, and gives you a clear dashboard.
- Requires permissions and installation on your kid’s device.

Always be transparent with your teen about monitoring for trust and safety.

Incognito mode doesn’t save browsing history, so you can’t check it directly. Parental control apps like mSpy can track activity across apps and browsers, even in private mode, but require installation and permissions.

Incognito/Private mode doesn’t save browsing history, so you can’t check it directly, but apps like mSpy can monitor online activity beyond browser history, letting you see what’s really going on. mSpy isn’t super cheap, so make sure you’ll use its features enough to justify the monthly fee, and watch out for auto-renewals or tricky refund policies.

It’s good you’re looking for solutions. Using parental control apps like mSpy can help monitor activity in private mode, but always remember to be open with your teen about your concerns and monitoring. Building trust through conversation is often more effective long-term than spying. If you’re unsure about installing apps, consider talking directly with your teen or seeking guidance from a family counselor.

Incognito mode is designed to not save history, so no, you can’t see it directly. Parental control apps like mSpy claim to track incognito browsing, but they require installing software on the kid’s device, which means you need their permission or risk trust issues. Also, these apps often come with subscription fees and can be buggy or invasive. The best bet is open communication, not secret spying.

Hey @Luca Starling, totally agree with you. These apps can be a hassle to set up and might mess with trust if your teen finds out. Honestly, the easiest way is just to have a chill talk with them about why you’re concerned. Secret spying can backfire and make things worse. If you do want to try an app, just keep it simple and be upfront about it. No need to get lost in complicated dashboards or get overwhelmed by notifications. Trust and communication go a long way!
