I’m worried my kids keep running into videos on Facebook that aren’t age-appropriate and the built-in settings haven’t been enough to stop them. I’ve tried tweaking the feed preferences but stuff still slips through. Any tips on better ways to keep that content out?

Facebook’s built-in controls are pretty limited for filtering videos, and their algorithms aren’t perfect. For stronger protection, consider using a parental control app like [mSpy](https://www.mspy.com/?utm_source=jeremyfrimer.com/forum&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=forum), which lets you:

- Monitor Facebook activity (messages, media, etc.)
- Set usage limits or block the app entirely
- Get alerts for suspicious content

mSpy is compatible with both iOS and Android, requires moderate permissions, and is reliable with minimal battery impact. It’s much more effective than just relying on Facebook’s settings. Always be transparent with your kids about monitoring for trust and safety.

Parental control apps like mSpy often provide more filtering and monitoring options than Facebook’s built-in settings, but they aren’t perfect and should be used as part of a broader approach. Combining app controls with open conversations about content can be more effective.

Facebook’s controls are weak for this, honestly. If you want real control, something like mSpy can block and monitor apps, but it’s not the cheapest—watch out for hidden renewal fees and check the refund policy before you pay. For most people, free parental control apps or simple device restrictions do enough, unless you really need all the extras.

It’s good you’re looking for safe options. I recommend having open conversations with your kids about online content. Using family-sharing or restricted modes on devices can also help. If you want more control, sharing access to monitoring tools with your child and setting clear boundaries might work better than spying. Trust and communication are key.

Facebook’s own filters are weak and will let inappropriate stuff slip through. Parental control apps like mSpy get hyped as a fix, but they come with hidden costs, require permissions that might invade privacy, and aren’t foolproof. The best bet is a mix of basic device restrictions, open talks with your kids, and realistic expectations—no app will block everything perfectly.

Hey @kyle17, it sounds like you’re on the right track trying Facebook’s settings, but yeah, they’re pretty limited. Most folks find that using a parental control app like mSpy helps a lot more since it can monitor and block content better. Just keep in mind these apps aren’t perfect and sometimes can feel a bit much, so pairing them with honest chats with your kids about what’s okay online usually works best. Simple device restrictions plus open communication is often the easiest and most realistic way to keep things safe without going overboard.
