My teen deleted a bunch of DMs on Instagram and I’m trying to figure out if there’s any way to recover them for peace of mind. I checked the app settings and “Your Activity” but didn’t see anything. Is there a legit way to restore deleted chats, or are they gone for good?
Unfortunately, once Instagram DMs are deleted, they’re usually gone for good—Instagram doesn’t offer a native way to recover them. You can try requesting your data from Instagram (Settings > Security > Download Data), but deleted messages rarely show up there.
