Has anyone tried sending a location tracking link to their kid's phone?

I’m worried about my kid heading out without saying where he’s going so I texted him a location link but not sure if he’ll tap it or if it even tracks properly without extra stuff. Has this actually worked for anyone or do I need another approach?

Sending a location tracking link (like Google Maps location sharing) only works if your kid taps it and agrees to share their location—so it’s easy for them to ignore or disable. For reliable, ongoing tracking, you’ll want a dedicated parental control app. I recommend mSpy—it’s compatible with most phones, runs in the background, and gives you real-time location updates without needing your kid to interact each time. It’s much more reliable and transparent for parental monitoring.
