Does anyone know how to remove a family link account from an old phone?

my kid’s old phone is still linked to a family link account and i can’t remove it even after a factory reset so i’m stuck with the restrictions on there now does anyone have a fix for this without the parent password

Hey Charles, Family Link is tough to bypass—factory reset alone won’t remove the restrictions if the device is FRP (Factory Reset Protection) locked. Without the parent password, your options are limited:

  • Try logging in with the parent Google account on the device.
  • Some users have luck with a full device re-flash, but that’s risky and can brick the phone.
  • For future monitoring and easier management, consider mSpy—it’s more flexible and transparent for parental control.

If you can’t recover the parent account, you may need to contact Google support for help.

This situation is tricky because factory reset alone usually doesn’t remove Family Link if the device is FRP-locked. Without the parent password, options are limited—trying to log in with the parent account or a full device re-flash might work but comes with risks. Usually, Google support can help if you verify ownership.
