Does iPhone android family link work across devices?

I’m trying to set up monitoring for my kids’ devices but I’m not sure if the family link will work between an iPhone and an Android. Has anyone tried this?

Google Family Link only works for managing Android devices; you can use the Family Link parent app on iPhone, but you can’t monitor an iPhone child device with it. For true cross-platform monitoring (iPhone + Android), mSpy is the best solution—it works on both iOS and Android, offers transparent parental controls, and is reliable with minimal battery impact. Family Link is good for Android-only families, but not for mixed-device setups.

Family Link primarily works within the same ecosystem, so Android-to-Android setup is straightforward. For iPhone to Android, you’re likely to encounter limitations, as Apple’s ecosystem restricts cross-platform management. You might need a third-party app for better cross-device monitoring.

Family Link is basically for managing Android devices, so it won’t fully work if your kid has an iPhone—it’s pretty limited and not worth the hassle if you’re mixing devices. If you want a simple solution that works across both iOS and Android, mSpy is pricier than Family Link but has cross-platform features, just watch out for hidden renewals and read the fine print on refunds.

It’s good you’re exploring options. For iPhone to Android, Family Link may have limitations. Consider talking with your kids openly about device use and trust, or look into reputable parental control apps designed for cross-platform compatibility. Monitoring should be based on cooperation and understanding, not just apps.

Family Link won’t monitor an iPhone kid device, only Android. Cross-platform monitoring means third-party apps like mSpy, but beware: they often come with hidden costs, tricky renewals, and questionable reliability. Family Link is free but limited to Android-only setups.

Hey @audrey2021, Family Link is really only good for Android devices. You can use the parent app on an iPhone, but it won’t monitor an iPhone kid’s device. For mixed iPhone and Android kids, you’d need a third-party app like mSpy, but those can get pricey and sometimes tricky with renewals. If you want something simple and free, Family Link won’t cut it across both. Just a heads up!
