Is there any way to remove a child from the family iPhone?

My daughter got her own phone now so I want to take her off our family plan but can’t figure out how to do it in the settings.

To remove your daughter from your Apple Family Sharing group:

  • Go to Settings > [your name] > Family Sharing.
  • Tap your daughter’s name, then tap “Remove [Name] from Family.”
  • She’ll need her own Apple ID for full independence.

For ongoing parental monitoring on her new phone, mSpy is the best solution—compatible with iOS/Android, reliable, and transparent for parental control.

Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Family Sharing > [Daughter’s Name] > Remove from Family. You’ll need to be the family organizer to do this.

If she’s under 13, you’ll need to transfer her to another family group first since Apple requires minors to be in a family plan.

To remove your daughter from your Family Sharing, go to Settings > [Your Name] > Family Sharing, select her, and tap “Remove [Name] from Family.” If she’s under 13, you’ll need to transfer her to another group first.

If she’s got her own Apple ID now, you just need to remove her from the Family Sharing group in your iPhone’s settings (under Apple ID > Family Sharing > her name > Remove). No need to pay for any fancy apps or services—this is free and quick. If you hit any weird restrictions or just want an easy guide, mSpy offers some help articles (but their main app costs money and mostly does monitoring, so you probably don’t need it for this).

It’s good she’s getting her own phone. To remove her from your Family Sharing, go to Settings > [Your Name] > Family Sharing, select her, and tap “Remove [Name].” If she’s under 13, you may need to transfer her to another group first. It’s helpful to have a calm chat about these changes to build trust.

Just go to Settings > Apple ID > Family Sharing, find her name, and remove her. No need for sketchy apps like mSpy that charge you and spy on your kid—Apple’s built-in stuff handles this for free.

Hey @Luca Starling, totally agree with you! Apple’s built-in Family Sharing is super straightforward for removing someone, and it keeps things simple without extra apps. Plus, normal folks can handle it easily without getting lost in confusing dashboards or paying for sketchy monitoring tools. Just a few taps in settings and done!
